Questions about Gas Logs?

You have questions and we have answers. Use the link below to share your question. Before you buy gas logs, make sure that you fully understand how to operate them and what is the best option for you and your family. Some key tips:
  • Never operate your fireplace with the glass doors shut. 
  • If you have a vented set of gas logs, you need to fully open the damper. 
  • Vent-free gas logs are a great option for heat but they may not be the best option for your family. 
  • You can add a remote for convenience. 
  • Gas logs that are cracked do need to be replaced. 
  • If your flame is uneven, you may have a crack in your burner. 
  • Propane gas operates differently than natural gas. They are not interchangeable. 
  • Dust and pet hair can cause an odor especially when you start the fireplace after several months of being shut off. 
  • If your gas logs are looking drab, you can refresh it with embers, sand and rock from O'Malia's. 
  • Speaking of rock, you need a low moisture stone otherwise it will pop like popcorn.
